About CCH Workpapers
Introduction to the CCH Workbook
The CCH Workpapers Microsoft Excel workbook is updated annually and released in early April. We will notify you when the next workbook is available.
The workbook contains the following sheets:
- Setup – governs the settings that will be applied across the workbook and allows the workpaper administrator to standardize the workpapers based on your firm’s preferences.
- Workbench – where you select worksheet templates to be included in the workbook and configure the workbook for individual clients. Worksheet templates are stored online and download via the Internet when you click to include them in your workbook.
- B1 Review Summary – provides a snapshot of the account and workpaper balances. Like a dashboard you can see at a glance what workpapers remain unbalanced, variances between years and any notes or queries.
- Supporting Documents - records hyperlinks to any relevant supporting documentation that has been added.
Introduction to the worksheet templates - CCH worksheets in the cloud
Individual workpaper templates are stored online. Once selected from the Workbench, the worksheet will be downloaded via the Internet and included in your Excel workbook file. This has numerous advantages including:
- A smaller workbook file size, as it only contains the worksheets you select.
- Worksheet templates are always current, as we can update them throughout the year – on demand, instead of annually. We will notify you of any updates to worksheets via email. Alternatively, you can visit our About CCH Workpaper updates.
- No limits on multiple worksheet templates.
With a suite of over 60+ workpapers you can be assured we’ll have a workpaper template for every occasion.
