View validation points

If the Validation Points button is inactive, it means there are no validation points for that specific workpaper.

On the CCH Workpapers ribbon, click the Validation Points button. The validation tool panel will open with a checklist of common issues for you to consider.

Use the radio buttons to record your response and then click Save response, so the workpaper reviewer can see that you have considered these important issues.

There are now three types of validation points:

Validation Points created by Tax Experts

These points identified by CCH tax experts will help you assess whether you have complied with NZ tax regulations

If you are unsure of the rules and regulations, click the hyperlink which will open related commentary in CCH iKnow – our content platform hub for NZ accountants.

Algorithm Based Validation Points (Smart Validations)

Points to consider are also created automatically based on GL balances on B1 for this year vs last year. If there is no GL balance this year or last year displayed on the B1 review summary sheet then no validation point will display.
