Set up the Contacts module
Settings - Contacts
Once you have set up your CCH iFirm site and are ready to use Contacts, you can set up some fields in the Settings area that can then be used in Contacts.
Click Settings > Contacts to access the settings area, where you can:
- Edit the general settings - enable the auto assign numeric client codes to be automatically assigned to new contacts and change the label of the custom address field on the Additional Addresses tab of a contact record.
- Edit the type options that are used to define the type of entity or business the contact is.
- Edit the client types, which can be used to define the industry the contact belongs to.
- Create your own dynamic fields for use in contact records.
- Edit the note categories available when adding notes in a contact record.
Related to Contacts and used extensively in the Practice Manager module, you may also want to set up custom firm groups and filtering options.
Once your Contacts settings have been customised to meet the needs of your firm, you can start to use the module to add and manage your contact records.
