About the Admin Setup sheet

The Admin Setup sheet governs the settings that will be applied across the firm to allow integration with your firm’s client accounting system and standardise the workpapers for your firm.

Once the workbook has been configured, your accounting team can use the workbook for individual clients.

This task is performed annually - once a new set of workpapers has been released – in early April each year. You will be notified once it is available, through our Working Smarter client newsletter.

There are two different kinds of CCH electronic workpaper files. The standard integrated workpapers need all of the settings below. The static workpapers (non-integrated) do not need anything other than the reviewer password.

If your firm uses more than one GL software application, create a master workbook for each type of GL software that you use.

Before you start

If you have setup an earlier version of the electronic workpapers, you can save time by importing the settings from prior year electronic workpapers. See Import settings from a previous year.

If you have not setup an earlier version, see Edit the General settings.

To save time and assist with data entry, ensure you install and activate the CCH Workpapers Add-in and have at hand your firm’s chart of account codes. See About the CCH Workpapers Add-in.
